Not a lot of this is to scale or perfectly shaped, so don't take such proportions to be the way of making things, especially if they don't work.
A - A sort of crude "bird's-eye-view" of the explorable part of the Age. The waterfall heights are randomly picked - they could be much higher or lower. As you can see, the two islands (Main Island and Tomb Island as I will call them) are just the significant blocks of quartzy material dotting the waterfalls.
B- Top view, with
for scale (it's luna because it's purple). This should hopefully illustrate the walkthrough stuff better than the previous maps I drew.
C- Two more diagrams of the Main Island, showing its profile (it's steep on the side with the link in platform, but gentle enough a slope to climb up steps on the other side, thus getting to the poet's room that's above/next to the Main Hall (which has some sort of vaulted or domed ceiling - it doesn't have to be exactly like shown, though)
D- A diagram of the tomb/memorial area, showing where you would get in (the red arrow) if the old door hadn't gotten jammed, and where you actually get in (via a maintenance tunnel) on the decorative lip of the room (which is partially covered and partially open to the environment). 'Twan and 'Thyme have joined luna in providing a sense of scale, but I might have gotten it off a bit (and this room can really be whatever size we need it to be in the end)
1 and 2 -
's drawing of the islands. 2 especially focuses on the design of the link in platform.
3- Gehn's lab in Riven (or rather, concept art/early production for it) for architecture inspiration.
4- waterfalls in nature
5- some large quartz in nature
6- a bird (this place needs some wildlife, after all)
7- more quartz (Libyan desert glass)
's drawing of a bird's eye view of the lake (with a few more island things on the walls of the lake and missing an island)
9- a dome - perhaps inspiration for the main hall
10 - (too small to get individual numbers), Gehn's 233rd office (architectural inspiration) and a bat (fauna inspiration)
11- more waterfalls
